Southwest Region Friends and Family Support Groups

These groups consist of family members and friends of people with disabilities to participate in monthly meetings to be informed of the most current issues that may impact your loved ones. The meetings can include:

• Presentations on state and federal policies that could affect you.
• Updates on services and programs in your area.
• Guest speakers on issues that are of interest to you.
• Collaboration on projects that will benefit self-advocates, families, and communities.

Where and When We Meet

Many years ago, The Arc started with families and friends working together to obtain services and create more inclusive communities. We still believe that our communities will greatly benefit from self-advocates, family, and friends working together to ensure a more inclusive future for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
