The Arc Minnesota’s 2023 Day of Learning on Saturday, September 23, 2023!

Our Day of Learning will have workshops, community art projects, and booths featuring disabled “makers” from across the state. The event theme is “Disability Justice, Joy, and the Journey Forward”. 

Together, we will: 

  • build community
  • celebrate disability identity
  • learn about Disability Justice
  • take action toward equity, justice, and belonging for all 

Workshops will be online and in-person at the University of Minnesota Institute on Community Integration. In-person participation is limited. The event begins at 10:00 am and ends at 4:30 pm.

9:00 – 10:00 – Check-in (in-person only)

10:15 – 11:15 – Workshop 1

  • “10 Principles of Disability Justice”, Dupree Edwards & Rebecca Ebsen

11:30 – 12:30 – Workshop 2

  • “Life Lessons Learned from a Cupcake”, Addie Loerzel

12:30 – 1:30 – Lunch on your own

  • Bring a lunch or eat at home!

1:30 – 1:45 – Guided Meditation with Nate Clark

1:45-2:45 – Workshop 3

  • “LGBTQIA+ and Disability Identity”, Rainbow Support Group

3:00-4:00 – Workshop 4

  • “I Will Die on This Hill” book reading & author discussion, Jules Edwards and Meghan Ashburn
